Mr. Quyen shared with MWA management about SEAWUN’s ongoing programs such as Non revenue water reduction, benchmarking, training twinning and the highlight of the year of SEAWUN in 2010 - the third Convention and General Members Meeting in the first week of December in Manila, the Philippines. He also mentioned about the generous support of MWA in hosting the second SEAWUN Convention in KL in 2007. For this year, MWA will also support SEAWUN in recommending speakers and contributing papers for the Convention.
Mr. Ahmad Zahdi Jamil, in return, presented some achievements of MWA, especially the establishment of Malaysian Water Academy. He also briefed Mr. Quyen about some upcoing events such as the Asia Water Loss and the Water Safety Plan Conference to be held in October and November, 2010 respectively. In this regard, SEAWUN will announce the events to SEAWUN members and create a links to the website of the conferences.
Cooperation with national water associations is in fact a key objective in partnership develoopment of SEAWUN to achieve the joint goal of improving the performance of water utilities in the region. SEAWUN and MWA saw the great cooperation potential in exchanging information, training, twinning and organizing events such as conferences, business forums or trade missions to SEAWUN member countries. Both SEAWUN and MWA expressed their interest in strengthening the existing and strong cooperation further in the time to come.
