  • Synthesis and Takeaways from the Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Solutions in Developing Countries Conference and Exhibition

    The DEWATS Conference  organized on 23 – 26 March 2010, in Surabaya - Indonesia, by  the  International  Water  Association  (IWA)  and the Bremen Overseas Research Development Association (BORDA) sought to explore the technical,  management  and  community  aspects  of  implementing  successful decentralized  systems,  as  well  as the  challenges  of  up-scaling  decentralized  systems. The event was supported by the World Bank Water and Sanitation Program (WSP), the Indonesia National Development Agency (BAPPENAS) and the Asian Development Bank
    (ADB)  and  hosted  by  the  Government  of  Indonesia.  It  follows  the  Sanitation  Options Conference organized by IWA and SEAWUN in Nov 2008 in Hanoi, Vietnam

  • Philippine Water Works Association (PWWA) 2009 Accomplishment Report

    Like any other year that has passed, 2009 was indeed a busy year for the Philippine Water Works Association (PWWA). As projected, several activities were realized which include major projects like the Water Safety Planning Seminar-Workshops, Appreciation Seminar and the Leadership Training Workshop, among others. Such colloquia were all intended to enhance not only the technical knowledge of the PWWA leadership and members but their personalities as well.

  • PERPAMSI led by a new chairman

    PERPAMSI’s four annual meeting (MAPAM 11th)  in Batam Island on December 1 – 3, 2009, successfully elect a new chairman.  Dr. Ir. Syaiful, D.E.A., President Director of Tirta Musi Palembang water companies, obtained a majority vote from the representatives of 355 water utilities throughout Indonesia. He will lead Indonesian Water Supply Associaton (PERPAMSI) for the next four years.
